DATES FOR THE SUMMER TERM

Miguel will be away on Wed 16 June.  It is possible that we will have a rehearsal on the half-term Wed 2 June instead.  This will be confirmed TODAY. 

Wed 30 June at 19.30 – Romany Wood concert at Gascoigne Primary School with the CMS Young Singers – rehearsal at 17.45

Sat 10 July at 19.30 – Summer Concert, venue to be decided. Please be prepared for rehearsals during the day.

Sun 11 July – End of year Barbecue hosted by Roger, £10 per person

CONCERT SCARVES

The issue of the scarves has caused a long lasting conversation both among the ladies of the choir and with the committee.  A consensus has now been reached that all scarves should be the same colour and shape and worn in an identical manner, to create a smart professional appearance.  The scarves will be property of the choir and handed out on the concert day and collected at the end of the concert.  A task force is on the case and searching for suitable material. 

MUSIC LIBRARY

Heather would like to thank the volunteers, Valerie, Doreen, Tom and Paul, for helping tidy up the music cupboard and creating enough space to store everything in neat order.  Just a reminder for everyone to return the music from previous concerts, so that we will have enough copies for next time.  This is particularly important for the original scores that we have bought, rather than photocopied.

DO YOU WANT TO HELP?

See the note above about standing for the committee, but even if you don’t want to tie yourself down to a regular post, if you have a particular skill or talent, or even a contact, that you think might be useful for the choir, please do talk to any of the committee members.  We can always use some help in the concert organisation, fundraising, publicity or anything practical or creative that you can think of.

As you know, maintaining the choir funds is an ongoing effort.  If you know of a company, small business – or your friendly neighbourhood millionaire – who would be willing to sponsor the choir or a particular event or concert, please let the committee members know.  Any sponsors will be mentioned in the concert programme and the choir website.
